On the south side of Edmonton, AB there is a wildlife and nature tunnel that runs under the freeway. It's been a place I've wanted to shoot for a while with all the cool graffiti. Megan and I decided it would offer fantastic contrast to our concept.Time
It was January when we shot this, late afternoon. We actually started loosing daylight as we were finishing up.Lighting
I drag a Profoto B1 with me everywhere. I was using my zoom reflector setup pretty tight and had it running hot to get the edgier look I wanted. Honestly I'm not trained on lighting, so I just shoot and adjust until it works with the vision in my head!Equipment

I love working with Megan. She is one of my favorite models. We have always had a great run creating together. Her eyes always pierce through the lens. She is very versatile going from softer to edgier more powerful looks easier. It is because of her confidence and power that I wanted to do a sexy, implied, woman of power set. So we got her a pantsuit and went to work!Editing
There is always a degree of post-processing in my photos. This was quite a while ago, so I don't remember fluidly. Colour and basic corrections in Lightroom and some skin touch ups in Photoshop is my usual.In my camera bag
This was done with my normal "mobile studio kit" bag. I have a Lowerpro Tactical bag that I really love! It fits my Profoto B1, Nikon D810, Nikon 24-70mm f2.8, Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 VRII, and another lens of choice which is usually my Sigma ART 50mm f1.4. That third lens could be a Tokina 16-35mm f4 or a Nikon 135mm f2.0. I always have this bag ready to go at a moments notice. Typically, however, my day to day kit is a Peek Design shoulder bag with a Fujifilm XT2 (now XT4), 10-24mm f4 WR OIS, 35mm f1.4, 56mm f1.2, and 90mm f2.0.Feedback
Doesn't matter what gear you have, just get out and shoot. I'm a practical learning, I need to do. I can sit down and read all the books, watch all the youtube, but until I get out there and shoot and play around, make mistakes, make happy accidents, there is no way I'll learn. Eventually it just becomes second nature. Just never stop shooting. I started a 52 week challenge, and people are keeping me accountable and it's keeping me going.
