Behind The Lens

Location

Churchill, Canada.

Time

I took this shot at about 14.09 am on the 15th November 2021.

Lighting

A bright afternoon with clear skies.

Equipment

A Nikon D750 with a Nikon F5.6 200-500mm lens and a monopod .

Inspiration

A love of capturing the moment.

Editing

I'm not into doing loads of post process but i used lightroom which is enough to deal with any high ISO that you get and the associated noise!!! .Basic adjustments of contrast Highlights ,saturation ,shadows and sharpening.

In my camera bag

I normally have my Nikon F4 300 mm, F5.6 200-500 mm(my go to lens) and a Nikon 3.5-5.6 18-200 mm ( for landscapes). A D750 and a D7100 body. A monopod and Rain cape.

Feedback

Early morning light is the best time to capture wildlife on safari and you need a lot of patience as nature doesn't always perform as you want it to and when it happens be ready to capture the moment. Timing is crucial as your subject may move or disappear as quickly as it arrived. A few seconds can make the difference between an amazing capture and also ran picture
