This photo was taken in what used to be my dinning room. Which is now my home studio in progress.Time
This was taken in the middle of the night. I have four children so most of my work is done very late at night when I can be as creative as I'd like with little distractions.Lighting
At the time this photo was taken I had only one speed light to work with. So I have had to find creative ways to make things less boring. If I could go back and redo this shot I definitely would. But it's all been part of the learning process.Equipment
This was shot on my very first camera, a rebel T8i. With my very favorite lens, a sigma 24mm 1.4 Art. I also used a godox tt600 speedlite I hung from a hook in the ceiling. And I of course used a tripod as this photo (and most of my work) is a self portrait. Which was incredibly difficult to do with the bandages over my eyes!Inspiration
My inspiration came from one of my very favorite photographers, Johan Swanepoel. He had done a few very amazing photos with body bandages that really inspired me and happened to fit perfectly with the concept of self love that I was shootingEditing
I don't believe I did as much post processing on this as I do with most of my other photos. I made some minor adjustments to the highlights and shadows in camera raw. Then touched up a few gaps in the bandages in photoshop. Nothing majorly interesting.In my camera bag
To be honest. I don't have a lot of gear. I keep my canon rebel t8i. My sigma 24mm art lens. My two godox speedlites, some color gels, two small softbox attachments for the speedlites. My tripod and of course extra batteries, memory cards ect.Feedback
I didn't do anything too complicated with my lighting. As I mentioned it was a one light set up. One speedlite (bare bulb) hung from the ceiling pointed straight down. I covered my face in rolled bandages, looked up towards the light and that's all. Very easy to execute.
