Location
The photo was taken in the countryside in one of the historic locations - Jaunmokas appeared in chronicles in 1544. Castle is not so old, it was built in 1901. Now there is a museum and hotel.Time
Actually, the photo was taken in the afternoon but it looks more mystical at night. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 during evening hours lighting is very limited and photos taken would not be of any artistic interest.Lighting
I think that illuminating a few windows makes building mystical. Some light on walls discovers architecture.Equipment
I used Olympus mirrorless camera OM-D E-M5.Inspiration
I love history, often going to visit places like Jaunmokas which have a story. No palace can be imagined without its very own special legend or a ghost. For the Jaunmokas castle, it was the White Lady Dorite. She sometimes walks around after midnight. Not every visitor will have the opportunity to meet the White Lady, but who knows… Perhaps, if you go to the Jaunmokas Palace and stay there overnight, you might just meet her.Editing
I am more a digital artist than a photographer. I like to create digital art from photos I have taken as well as sometimes using other artists' photos to blend with my own ones. I am mostly using Photoshop what gives a lot of possibilities to create artworks. For this piece, I changed the bright blue sky to a starry night. Used brushes for lighting and various adjustments to finalize this piece. In my camera bag
In the bag with my Olympus, I always have a few lenses, depending on what I would like to photograph, lens hoods, some filters. In the car I have tripod but shall tell honestly - I am not using it much.Feedback
Just do it! Have your camera ready whenever it is possible.
