Location
I took this in Richardson, TX. There were plenty of beautiful spots on this gorgeous fall day.Time
I’m a believer in not letting times and lighting situations conquer…so this was taken around noon. Loving the craft is about welcoming a challenge. You can always make it happen!Lighting
I always have the tendency to shoot a tad under-exposed. It lends a hand to my preferred style. I also really like looking for pops of lighting to accent a cheek, nose, or in this case; the rim of the glasses.Equipment
I use a Cannon M50 with a Sigma 30mm f1.4 that rarely comes off. I keep a 1/4 black mist filter which assists softening light sources.Inspiration
We realized very quickly that Janine had an “Almost Famous” Vibe…so we just used it as inspiration for many shots.Editing
Absolutely. Being a painter, I like immediately deciding if the set will have a warm or cool tonality. It sets consistency and expectations for the series of photos. Once decided, I’ll push my shadows and black points. We want to live in those shadows. In my camera bag
A few extra batteries, 1 Red Bull, lume cube mini, and a prism is rolling around in there somewhere. :)Feedback
Don’t let location or lighting conquer you. Everything is art and it’s our job to capture what we see. You’re snapping a moment that only you have seen before. There’s something really cool about that…
