BOOLOUMBA CREEK

Booloumba Creek, a favourite day trip for us not far from Kenilworth in Condondale National Park. Always peaceful, with tall gums to admire, clear water in the creek, the sound of the rainforest birds. We have a barb-b-que lunch, but we are kept very busy protecting our food. We know not to feed the wildlife, but they help themselves. The Kookaburras sit in the trees above just waiting for their time to swoop. They take the sausage or the steak straight from your bread roll as you are trying to take a bite. (Very clever) The Goannas and the Bush Turkeys scrounge around your feet waiting for any droppings and usually end up squabbling with each other, with us lifting our legs up out of the way. Great lunchtime entertainment! Our many visits over the years with friends, hold very fond memories.
