Winter grass growing on the side of the range. In winter we generally don't get much rain, so the once green tufts are now a beautiful golden colour. Taken on the side of the Mount Morgan range. We pulled over on a slight pull in area and I quickly photographed, hoping that the next car coming around the bend didn't clean me up. (I was lucky!!)

This reminded me of a trip to the Great Sandy National Park, Queensland Australia. My family and I were walking along a path that ran accross a steep slope. Dense grass either side. I caught movement out of the corner of my eye. It was a snake about 1.5 mt long sliding at speed on the top of the grass like it was surfing. Almost touching me as it passed. It traveled another 10 or more meters and disapeared. I was following the family so I was the only one to see it!

Yes, wildlife is amazing. Snakes at most times are just happy to get out of your way. I bet you didn't have your camera ready at that moment. Wildlife will always spring something on you when you least expect it. A great memory and a fascinating story to pass on. Thanks for sharing Steve. 😊
