This cabin is an identical neighbour to the one in which a murder took place in 1954. The children lying in the upper bunk were awakened by the sound of their father killing their mother.
The little ones had to wait until they reached the age of majority to report to the police what they had witnessed. Their mother's body was never found and probably still rests in the bottom of one of the countless swamps in this half wild landscape.
The full story has yet to see print because it is the most mundane of murders
