Location
This picture was taken in the Dijlepark, a public part in my hometown of Leuven, Belgium. There are a few public parks in the city of which this is the smallest and more hidden one in the center. It's usually very quiet there so I like to pass there regularly to take some pictures.Time
The picture was taken on an early sunday morning in october, around 9AM. I woke up, decided to walk around town with my camera and this was basically my first stop.Lighting
Early morning sun was falling between the trees which really fell onto the little spot with mushrooms. As it was still early morning in october it wasn't over exposed, just gave a very nice natural light.Equipment
This was shot with an older camera, the Nikon D40 with a 55-200mm lens on it.Inspiration
I walked into the park and on the first patch of grass there was this little part which stood out as there was a lot of brown on the green grass. When I realized it was a small batch of mushrooms I decided to take some pictures of it, some from afar and others from closer by as the natural composition of the mushrooms really stood out to me.Editing
I didn't do much post-processing, only made the picture a little bit lighter but besides that no further processing took place. In my camera bag
As I am just a beginning photographer I use some older equipment I got from my friends so far. I usually walk around with a Nikon D40 and a Nikon D70 in my bag. For the D40 I have a 18-55mm and a 55-200mm lens in my bag, for the D70 I have a 18-55mm and a 70-200mm in my bag. For more casual shots I also carry a Sony Cybershot DSC-H200 with me.Feedback
For pictures like these you have to think a little bit out of the box. Usually when I go to a park I look to shooting some flowers or leaves/trees (usually with the macro setting). For some reason my eye got drawn towards the mushrooms and although I don't use those to take pictures I decided to go for it and when looking at the pictures later when I got home it really made me filled with joy that I took those as the pictures turned out very nicely. Since then I look indeed around more to take different pictures rather then focussing beforehand already on what I want to shoot.
