An intriguing geometric street sculpture Panmure Passage relates to the vessel being locked in ice between 1902 and 1904 during Scott’s first expedition to the Antarctic.

The sculpture is sited on the location of the slipway where the #rrsdiscovery was launched in 1901. Each cut out taken from the 11 upright slabs relates to a cross-section of the hull of the vessel. The title of the sculpture acknowledges Panmure Shipyards.

Completed 2009

Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in Dundee, Scotland.

Time

If I remember right this photo took the afternoon during my daily walk. It was one year ago when everything was closed because of the quarantine.

Lighting

I think the natural light and holes in the stones give the effect of 3d Model.

Equipment

This was shot on my iPhone XR. So, I can use #mobilephotography
