I was visiting Lake Mattamuskeet and there was a swan that had just slipped into the water. I quickly took a picture and love the way it came out, especially the ripples on the water.

Location
I took this photo at Lake Mattamuskeet as the swan had just walked off the road and slipped into the water.Time
We left the house to go for a drive around noon and I took this picture close to 1:00 PMLighting
It was pretty over cast that day so the water didn't reflect amazing clouds in the sky, instead the water was grayish blue. I later switched it to black and white because I feel it shows the contrast more.Equipment
I used a Canon EF 75-300mm lens.Inspiration
I love how pretty swans are so I have always wanted to get a good shot of them. We were at lake Mattamuskeet however which is full of birds and swans.Editing
I switched the photo from color to black and white as well as a tiny bit of cropping. In my camera bag
I normally have my Canon camera, my Nikon, a zoom lens, a mini tripod, charging cables, lens cleaners and a couple of other small lenses.Feedback
Use a fast shutter speed when photographing any animal if you want to get a crisp shot. Even if it is sort of overcast that day because if you use a shorter one to allow more light then you will not get a crisp image.
