Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken while hiking along the banks of the Tanaro River which is a tributary of the most important Italian river called Pò.

Time

The photo was taken around 9 in the morning, on a rather cloudy day with threat of rain.

Lighting

The sky was cloudy, but there was also some wind that moved the clouds and created different plays of light.

Equipment

I used my Nikon d5600 on a tripod (Manfrotto) with a Tamron SP 17-50mm F/2.8. I used a ND 1000 Nisi filter for lon exposure.

Inspiration

I was looking for a location to take some long exposure to capture the stream of the river and I was struck by the prominent lines of this view

Editing

I developed this raw with lightroom and used photoshop for some dodge and burn and sharpening

In my camera bag

Usual in my bag I have my D5600 with with two spare batteries and some sd card. I choose which photographic lenses to bring based on the type of images I want to create. I have a sigma 10-20, a tamron 14-50, an all-round zoom 18-140 and a tele 200-300. Also I have two ND filters NISI with the V5 pro system.

Feedback

As a landscape photographer, patience is one of the main qualities. Before positioning the tripod I take some time to find the best composition. Once I have chosen the composition I like to take several shots at different times and experiment with different combinations
