Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at my home in my back yard. While we had let the kittens out to play outside for a bit.

Time

This photo was taken in the evening time not quite golden hour but close to it. There was enough shade being cast from the trees to give some good lighting conditions.

Lighting

When the photo was taken it was still slightly early for golden hour. But we have enough trees in the backyard that they were casting enough shadow to be able to cast decent lighting conditions for decent photos.

Equipment

The camera i was using was a Canon eos m50 mkii. I was using a eos m to ef/efs adapter in conjuction with a Canon 24 mm 2.4 prime lense.

Inspiration

The kittens were running around and playing so I dug out my camera to start attempting to capture them in motion. I've always enjoyed capturing subjects im motion because your not just freezing them in time, but as you can see in this your also capturing their emotions as well.

Editing

I shoot with neutral color and on raw so as to capture more color from the images. Post I usually color grade to what it looked like in the mome t that the image was captured.

In my camera bag

Equipment i usually keep in my bag, is a my Canon my mkii, my rebel t5, and the three lenses I keep are, the 18-55mm, 24 mm, and a 70-300mm.

Feedback

The nest advice i can give to other people who are trying to capture anything similar, is to pay attention your lighting, and try to capture your moving subject when they cross into an area where the lighting shifts into something that shows the subject in an interesting way.
