Absolutely fabulous. Love the way the clouds and see create a narrow border. A great little oasis.

Beautiful capture ...the cloud and sea textures give it such impact - And it must be in my country with the name Tauranga. Think it might be Mount Maunganui?? There was a major fire there a few years ago which is probably where the green treeless part is.

Location
I was on a 14 day New Zealand/Australia cruise and we were pulling into dock at Tauranga, NZ New Zealand is such an incredible place to take photographs.Time
The sun had not come up yet. I believe it was about 5 a.m.Lighting
I was intrigued with the way the light was playing off the clouds and water.Equipment
I had a tripod set up with my Nikon D3S and 14-24mm lens on it. I was bracketing shots so I could do an HDR picture as I felt the view would work well with that process.Inspiration
The lighting and the water along with the green on the island was just breathtaking. It was so quiet and peaceful. I just felt this would be a keeper shot.Editing
I did run the bracketed pictures through Photomatix Pro and then did some minor tweaking afterward with Lightroom and I believe at the time Topaz software. In my camera bag
Currently I have the Fuji XT-1Feedback
I give all the credit for this picture to the awesome teachings of Trey Ratcliff @ Stuckincustoms.com He is an incredible teacher and I've learned so much from him. February 2013 I spent a week with him back in New Zealand for a workshop. He's so gracious and giving. I highly recommend learning anything you can from Trey if you are interested in HDR photography.
