Location
This photo was taken in Northern California on the California delta during a super moon event. I was testing out various combinations of settings.Time
this was taken around 10 pm.Lighting
I was looking to see how detailed I could get without using a telescope.Equipment
This was a Digital SLR with a 300 mm telephoto lens on a tripod.Inspiration
I was just practicing camera settings for the night skyEditing
Very little processing on this particular photo. I processed the raw to bring out the contrast between the shadows and the lightIn my camera bag
I normally carry a telephoto 70-300mm or a 150-600mm, in addition to a 10-20mm along with 18-55mm. Several batteries, data cards, and a tripod.Feedback
Use a tripod, make sure you don't have any vibrations, find a location without a lot of light pollution in the night sky, and plan for the super moo. It will be bright so watch your exposure.
