Behind The Lens

Location

Well I took this photo in the most under-rated city park here in Amarillo Tx. This park has such potential and when I can I shoot there and people are always amazed about how I was able to capture such images. The name of this park is Thompson Park. Just completely full of little nooks perfect for making a fantastic shot.

Time

Well it was the beginning of Oct. of 2020. I know that it was dusk so probably around 6 or 630 pm. I could probably check the metadata. But I'm pretty certain that it was just after 6pm.

Lighting

Well I wish I had some words of wisdom here that would help make me sound highly intelligent but to be honest i truly had the perfect fall day for this shoot. If any of yall have ever been to Amarillo Tx well then you know that Chicago being the windy city is a JOKE!!! But this day was amazing it had just rained the night before and only a light breeze so made for crystal clear air outside and excellent timing is what made this whole shoot wish i could show all of the photos because while this is one of the best. There was a lot of excellent photos in the session. With the air being the clear. All you need to do is just pick the right time of day.

Equipment

Handheld Canon Eos T6i and no flash and alternated between a kit lens 18-55mm and a 50mm

Inspiration

Piper my model. Asked if i would be interested in doing this Halloween Maternity session for her since she was expecting on Halloween. I loved it. to have a chance to stray away from the norm for me is what i thrive on. to showcase an elegant motherlly session yet in black and white and to sprinkle in just a tad bit of the erie maybe even spooky feel of the time of year that Baby Riot was being born in. Hell i was stoked to do this shoot.

Editing

not a lot If there is any it will be basic adjustments bringing down the exposer or a crop here and there not as much as you would think to be honest. I love it when the suns and the moons are aligned just right and the mexican hat dance you have done that day went off with out hitch. When you can smash that shutter but and a photo comes out just about as close to perfect for what you had imagined. LOve LOve LOve those days.

In my camera bag

oh oh Im like a Nomad ha ha ha and I currently have the T6i a T3i back up small point and shoot. chargers cables audio recorder.. ummm what else my flash laptop just incase. Hell I hate leaving anything behind. If I could I would carry a Chevy Van on my back instead of a lowepro backpack lol

Feedback

Im not sure that im at the piont to be giving advice lol Im still taking it all in myself. Hell I would have loved for this to be critique of my work. lol then i could have just sat here kept my mouth shut and absorbed. The best thing I can say is "There is no Right or Wrong way. So do yourself a favor chillout and take the Damn shot".
