Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken at the North Devon seaside Town on Westward Ho! (the exclamation mark is officially part of the name) in the UK. The tide comes in and out covering quite a distance. This day, the tide was out giving the great area of beach to explore.

Time

Sunset. It was the only sunny evening of our week visit. This is sadly typical of our 2021 summer.

Lighting

The sunset colours and reflections on the water are true to what I saw, which is an important part of my photography as I like to 'record' moments in time.

Equipment

This was actually taken on my Samsung Note. Some edits in Lightroom.

Inspiration

Without many people on the beach, I wanted to capture the breakers, the sunset and reflections. A creative combination I anticipated

Editing

I have Lightroom and made some edits to ensure a good horizon and clone some distractions without over doing it.

In my camera bag

I always have my phone at hand. I also have my camera bag with my Canon M50, selection of lenses, cleaning cloths and spare batteries.

Feedback

Try different perspectives in height as well as outward view. You'll be surprised how this small change can impact the finished result.
