Behind The Lens

Location

I took it in my room lying in my bed near the window. My cat, Natasha, is very camera friendly so when she hopped on the window sill that runs parallel to my bed while I was resting after work, I took the opportunity.

Time

I took the picture in the late afternoon nearing sundown. Natasha often runs to me when I get home from work, following me around the house.

Lighting

I took the photo in natural light from the window. It was ample to capture the image that I wanted.

Equipment

I usually use my iPhone 12. It has a very good camera(s) on it and takes good pictures. I used to own a Sony a6000 but had to part with it during the beginnings of the pandemic. The iPhone has been ample for my needs and has several settings built it to get the results I want.

Inspiration

My cat is amazing. She is as smart as she is beautiful She is always ready for a picture and takes amazing shots. She is my inspiration in the photo.

Editing

I rarely do any post processing, although I am skilled in photoshop. I prefer the natural look, nothing added as to me, it takes away from the magic of the moment.

In my camera bag

I have my iPhone and a Nikon L-120, an old bridge cameral I used before I got my Sony a6000. When I had the Sony it was my first experience with a professional grade camera and I had a great time taking pictures with it. I have used my iPhone for the most recent pictures since I parted with my Sony.

Feedback

Be patient. Wait for the right shot and get the framing right. I recommend study of professional photos to get a sense of space when you take your photographs. After a while it just comes natural. Have fun taking photos1
