Location
this was taken at a local cemetery. The Kookaburra was sitting on a headstone looking for lunch. lots of lizards and mice about between the graves.Time
approx.11:30 amLighting
lighting was hard midday sun, not quite full height, so slightly to the back of him.Equipment
canon EOS RP, canon 24-70mm f2.8 mk1 with ef-rp adapter.Inspiration
The kookaburra was just sitting there spying lunch. I snapped a few quick images in case he flew off if i approached. I walked up to him very close in to capture this image.Editing
Lightened, straightened, cropped. dodged and burn on his eye.In my camera bag
usually this is my main set up, no bag.Feedback
move slowly toward these birds, they will sit there for a long time if you do so and you will be able usually to get reasonably close. They watch you intently and i have previously been able to get off a lot of images before they decide they have had enough of me.
