My daughter & I started doing themed photo shoots for fun & we received positive feedback from friends & family so we decided to continue doing these photo shoots. We have done, "The Wizard of Oz", Carmen Sandiago, a Mermaid shoot on the beach as the tide was coming in, I & my camera ended up getting splashed by a big wave but we both survived lol... I took this photo in my backyard.Time
The time of day depended on what we had planned for the day, this, if I remember correctly was taken late morning, we found a shaded area in the backyard to avoid the bright sunshine. When we did the Mermaid photo shoot it was late in the day just as the tide was coming in because we wanted to capture the water coming in over the rocks.Lighting
I just used natural light that was available & changed my settings if I needed to let more or less light in, the editing also helped with this in case I needed to tweak the exposure etc. I also used a more shady section of the backyard to avoid bright sunshine & lessen the chance of over exposure or glare.Equipment

My daughter loves "Disney" & her favourite character is Tinkerbell.Editing
I use editing to straighten the horizon, tweak the lighting or darkening if needed, crop if needed, colour, vibrance etc. It all depends on the photo, if it needs more or less editing.In my camera bag

Go with your imagination, get creative & have fun with it. My daughter & I have a great time with our themed photo shoots. She enjoys getting creative with dressing up, make up, & hair styling, sometimes she uses wigs depending on the character she is playing & I enjoy the photography aspect to our collaboration, plus we bounce ideas off of each other. To me being a photographer also helps me see things in nature that others may miss because they don't see it ie like the texture & patterns of leaves, trees etc. I will go & photograph something that captures my eye & get some strange looks lol but I see what grabs my attention & go with it.
