Dorothy Elaine (Arnold) Dittli was born in Montana in 1904, one of eight children on a remote homestead near Ashley Lake. This photo was taken in 1923. The pearls were hers, passed down to her daughter, my mother. The letter was written to me in 1989. She was an amazing gardener, raising vegetables, fruits, and flowers. My mother specifically remembers Gram's peonies.
