An Emperor Dragonfly kept fly under a overhanging tree and catching the midday sun on its wings giving an almost black background. I pre-focused on the very edge of the overhanging foliage. when the out of focus dragonfly popped into view I held the af button down and the camera snapped into focus and I held the shutter down.
