I photograph butterflies, especially Monarchs, during summer in Iowa. I find them bold and beautiful. Their wings are interesting during flight. I was sitting on a grassy hillside watching for butterflies in the flowerbed below me. A shallow depth of field and a concrete walkway below created the uncluttered background that allowed the butterfly to star in the picture as he approached the flowers at my eye level.Editing
