Behind The Lens

Location

In our kitchen drinking coffee preparing for a morning walk with are bulldogs.

Time

Around 7.15am. The day before I watched as the sunshine come through the windows and watched how it reflected off certain items in the room.

Lighting

Patience!!! Lighting when taking closeup portraits is probably the hardest thing about photography for me. I like to take time and look at lighting from different positions and angles.

Equipment

A Canon Rebel T6i with a EFS 18-55mm lens.

Inspiration

My wife Traceys eyes are so beautiful and I thought the lighting was perfect at the moment.

Editing

Auto filter on my Samsung s20.

In my camera bag

Tripod with 3 lenses. EFS 18-55mm, 75-300mm and a 35mm f/2.8. With lots of lens cleaning wipes.

Feedback

Have lots of patience!! I always scan a room for a few hours and sometimes days before taking a closeup portrait especially with natural sunlight. Always look at different angles from different positions.
