Behind The Lens
Location
The image was shot in Rome, Italy. I was waiting for my wife and aunt to come out of a shop. When I saw the triangle of light on the other side of the street lighting up the fashion posters. I picked my spot to shoot from them waited for different people to walk inn and out of the frame.Time
This shot was taken around noon.Lighting
This was straight forward noon day sun.Equipment
My camera was a Nikon d750 with a 24-70mm f/2.8 lens.Inspiration
The scene reminded me of the Cartier Bresson images. So it was a matter of waiting for the right subject to walk into the frame.Editing
Minimal post processing was used as I wanted to keep the feeling of ennui in the subjectIn my camera bag
When I'm out in a city I just carry my d750 with one lens attached either a 50mm f/1.8, a 24-70mm f/2.8 or a 70-200mm f/4. A spare battery and cards in my pocketFeedback
Find your light first, decide on how you want to frame the image, take a few test shots to get your desired exposure, then wait for the subjects to walk into the frame.
