This photo was shot from my yardTime
When I first got my camera I asked my friends for suggestions on what to shoot - what they would like to see. My father challenged me to get a photo of lightning at sunset, to which I scoffed and thought I'd never be able to capture that. One evening while my kids were playing on the trampoline, this storm moved in on the mountains to the North. I unfortunately didn't have my camera on me, but was able to capture this lightning at sunset with my cell phone.Lighting
I loterally took about 1500 snap shots to get three images of lightning. Lightning is a tricky thing to photograph and I still don't have a complete handle on it.Equipment
Samsung Galaxy S7 (yes, I use an out-dated phone lol)Inspiration

I definitely had to tone down the light and I enhanced some detail with an editing appIn my camera bag
Usually, when I have my bag on me, I have my Canon T7, 300mm lense, 50mm lense, UV filter, tripod, and a notebookFeedback
I really don't have any advice, as I am still trying to figure out how to get good lightning shots, myself. Burst shots worked for me in this instance.
