Behind The Lens
Location
My wife and I have three children so I don't always have the freedom to just go take pictures somewhere nice. Here I was sat on the swinging bench in my own garden while looking after the children. I had just got a new vintage lens in the post and I was testing it out. The leaves in the foreground are from a fig tree I've been growing for the past 5 years. I'm hoping to eat some fruit from it soon.Time
This was taken in the early evening, maybe around 6:30pm.Lighting
It was a cloudy day, which gave the scene a great, almost mysterious look.Equipment
I've recently got into using vintage lenses, this was my third attempt at finding a decent zoom lens. As they say, third time lucky. This was shot on a Canon 100D with a Japanese made Carl Zeiss Jenazoom Super 70-210mm f4-5.6 and this lens is definitely a keeper. This lens is way sharper than my Canon kit lens.Inspiration
As I say in my bio, I'm exploring the art of photography. Here I was just trying to find some kind of pleasing composition while being stuck in my garden with the kids.Editing
Only very little. The usual tinkering with highlights and shadows I think. In my camera bag
I am actually in the process of switching to Fuji and I have to say that so far I'm super happy with my new X-E3. As well as the Carl Zeiss, I have a Helios 44M 58/2 and a Fujinon fx 18-55mm f2.8-4Feedback
Just get the camera out and shoot! I spend way too much time reading and watching YouTube videos on photography, I'm trying to push myself to just shoot and learn from field experience as well.
