This rock wall and a wagon are all that remains of a large horse corral and stables. The stables were part of Fort Bowie, a frontier military installation located in southeastern Arizona. The fort was active from 1862 to 1894. The personnel who served at this fort were responsible for protecting a trade route through Apache Pass.
