I took this photograph on my second trip in October 2012, to my beloved city of Barcelona, Spain. This place is an icon in Barcelona, Spain. Casa Batlló is located at number 43 on Paseo de Gracia.Time
I took this photo on the afternoon of October 20, 2012, while I was walking around this beautiful neighbourhood, this iconic Gaudí building, Casa Batlló is a very busy tourist area, so to get this photograph I had to sit down and wait for the ideal moment to shoot from the sidewalk in front. I didn't have a tripod with me that day, but I think it was one of the best pictures I could get that day.Lighting
In Casa Batlló, all the spaces are designed to obtain uniform and proportional lighting most of the day. Light is always very beautiful, it is that Mediterranean light that all poets and painters talk about that magic and light that Barcelona has.Equipment
In 2012, I only used my Nikon D 90 camera most of the time. I took this picture with NIKON D90 AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5. ISO 800.Inspiration
The magic city of Barcelona and this corner, La Manzana de la Discordia is a block on Passeig de Gràcia in the Eixample District. The block is known for having buildings by four of Barcelona's most important Modernista architects, Lluís Domènech I Montaner, Antoni Gaudí, Josep Puig I Cadafalch and Enric Sagnier, 4 palaces, 4 different styles and beautiful light.Editing
Not really. I probably had to do a minimum of balanced exposure. I like to leave the photos untouched and to be able to appreciate that moment and learn from those mistakes. Now, I have on my travel list, to return to Barcelona and return to photograph this corner with more experience and other cameras. In my camera bag
I like to walk lightly, I carry in my backpack a mini tripod, Viltrox wireless digital timer remote controller, Pocket Box Speedlite softbox kit, The Neewer flash, the Hoya Pro Filter. If I travel for more than three days, I add, the essential things, such as: Prime Lens, AA Batteries + Battery Charger, Extras SD Memory Cards, Camera Cleaning Kit, Camera Strap, Memory Card Reader, My laptop, Portable Storage Drive, Gaffer Tape, and Small Flashlight. I think it is generally what I carry in my travel backpack.Feedback
The best advice I can offer is to be patient in capturing that image that you want or have planned so much. Be respectful to the people around you and above all embrace the journey, learn from mistakes and NEVER delete the photos even if you think they are out of focus, you never know if they will be part of your next exhibition.
