Conditions were not perfect, it was mid morning, there was a lot of cloud about and the photo was taken hand held with a Canon zoom lensLighting
The cargo ship was sitting right in the middle of a cloudy spot, it accentuated the darkness of the ship against the sea and lightened the wake, leading the eye into the centre of the photoEquipment

I adjusted the white balance, used slight image sharpening and deepened the colour slightly. I regret not taking the original image in raw format, subsequent post processing would have been far less invasiveIn my camera bag

It's always difficult taking photos through glass especially when moving. In this case, I also had the cloudiness to contend with but this ultimately worked for me. I snapped quickly and frequently as the scenes quickly changed, looking ahead constantly for new material
