Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture in Miami, Florida. It was as a matter of fact, my last day there. So this picture was purely amazing and unique.

Time

This was during sunset. I remember that there was only 5-10 minutes left for the sun to fully go down. At the time, my friend was doing random handstands, and I remembered saying in my head, "I will just take one or two pictures for fun".

Lighting

I wanted the original image to look way brighter and with a bit of saturation. As a matter of fact, I remember I had my ISO bumped a bit high, yet I didn't bother to fix it.

Equipment

Surprisingly enough, I used a Canon EOS Rebel T3i. As of the lens, which truly amazed me in terms of handling the environment, a EFS 18-55 mm. Quite old equipment if you ask me. But it was sure better to have a camera then to only have a smartphone.

Inspiration

When I saw the sunset I asked my friend to see if she could do a handstand. At the moment I was only trying to setup the picture in my mind, and when she did it, I told her to do it again, but this time with a picture because of how amazing it looked.

Editing

As of the post-processing and editing of this picture, the original shot had a completely white and plain sky, and the lighting was extremely low due to the sunset.

In my camera bag

When it comes to filling my bag with equipment, I like to always put first the camera with the two lens I have. Then, I add my tripod, which is taller then me. After that, I add small add-ons such as the SD card reader, a mineral water just for sake of being thirsty during the journey, and a few batteries due to my camera dying out on me quickly.

Feedback

Make sure to use the subjects shadow as the place to put the camera. Why do I say this? So that you can free yourself from any flares happening. Even though it would sound nice to have one in the picture. As of the sky, the original it is to the rest of pictures on Social Media, the better.
