The same pack of five dogs that had made a kill on the edge of camp 2 days previously were still in the area and on the hunt on this morning. We tried to follow as best as we could but the terrain was thick bush, there were several vehicles out which made tracking easier.
We lost sight and gave up the chase for a while as it was getting too late in the day for the dogs to hunt. We spent some time with a few bull elephants who were enjoying the fresh water in one of their water holes. Then we hear that the dogs are hunting and coming our way. They must have killed this impala in the thick mopane as when we found them they were just by the elephants we had been with earlier enjoying the last of their kill and the cool water. We sat and watched them enjoy the last of their meal.
