Location
This photo was taken at my home in the living room. I used a black coffee table to place the items and used the wall, which was about seven to eight feet away from the table, as a backdrop.Time
The photo was taken around 3 pm, when the daylight is softer in the room in which i took the picture.Lighting
I chose not to use a flash or any extra light equipment. This was lit with the natural daylight that filtered through the windows of, from the front, the living room and, from the back, the dining room.Equipment
I use an older Canon EOS Rebel T3 camera with an EFS 18 - 55mm lens. For this photo, I also used a tripod. It took a while for me to get the flowers and bottle in the right position together, and the right distance behind the wine glass.Inspiration
My inspiration for taking this picture came from an image and thought in my mind of a person arriving at a friend's house, and that person has brought wine and flowers.Editing
I boosted the color saturation, applied a warming filter and adjusted it a bit beyond the auto setting. I also added a vignette and adjusted it to what I felt was an appropriate amount. Finally, I increased the black levels. In my camera bag
I have my camera, spare battery, lens cleaner, and tripod.Feedback
My advice would be to use even, diffused light-- natural or artificial-- and one should take their time to set up the camera and items being photographed at the right distance and be sure the camera is at the right height, which plays an important part in making the image work.
