Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my back garden, I’m constantly taking shots of the flowers there but wanted something a little different.

Time

It was a beautiful day in early November and around 11 in the morning, the light was stunning and the sky was a crisp clean blue, I couldn’t resist.

Lighting

Mother Nature provided the perfect day and light for this photo.

Equipment

Sorry in advance to all the purists out there but this was taken with my iPhone 11 Pro as are most of my photos.

Inspiration

I just loved the warmth of the orange against the cool blue of the sky and the raindrops from the early morning shower still clinging onto the petals like little jewels.

Editing

I’m very new to any kind of of editing software so I just used my iPhone cameras software to tweak the image a little… I’ve since learned how to use Lightroom somewhat but I’m far from adept with any editing software yet..

In my camera bag

Sorry again to the purists but I have my iPhone 11 Pro with me always and on the very odd occasion that I may have my Finepix S2000HD with me I’ll use that. Most often it’s my phone’s camera I use.

Feedback

It was a case of inspiration really, I was holding the flower up to see the light playing on the water droplets on the petals and thought ‘that would make a pretty nice shot’ so out came my phone… all I can say is try… if a shot works then great, if not then try something else but you can’t fail with photography, your view of the world is yours alone until you take a photo then others can share your vision and vice versa. Never stop clicking.
