We rarely get any follow up after emergency vet calls ... it's actually quite seldom that we know whatever became of those horses we rushed into clinics, so many times we've waited with the vet and held the horse's heads as the vet worked to heal them. So it's quite a treat not only when we return the horse home, but get to watch them as themselves; not sickly, shocky or overwhelmed by illness or injury.
Earlier this week we rushed this 2-week old baby into a local clinic, she was labouring under a severe umbilical infection. It was kinda sketchy at first, foals so young don't have the immune reserves to ward off infection, but this li'l gal is a true redhead, so she not only beat it, but did so with aplomb! So this is such an honour to participate in!
