Heading back from Milford Sound to Te Anau, I stopped (many times!) to take a hike to The Chasm through an incredible forest of moss covered trees, well moss covered just about everything! Some parts of this forest were sheer fantasy where you expected to bump into fairies or little people. Other parts of this forest were somewhat strange, spooky in fact. I felt as if these trees could move, maybe grab you with their longs arms as you walked past! Vivid imagination maybe...or maybe not! LOL
