Behind The Lens

Location

the photograph was taken at a local area, in st. helens, merseyside, northwest england, a local woodland. early morning, around 7am, in the summer of last year, 2020.

Time

i started off at about 4am, to catch some sunrise shots, and this photo was taken around 7am.

Lighting

the shot was about chance, i wasn't really looking at where i was, or where i was walking, as i was just about finished for the day, i looking around, to the back of me, and there it was, great sunlight coming through the trees, and a glow on the ground, so i took the shot.

Equipment

i used a sony emount A5000, 200mm zoom lens

Inspiration

just purely by chance

Editing

yes, in Lightroom, cropped to 1/1 ratio, then through the usual black and white pre-sets i always use, standard brightness and contrast, with a film texture of kodak triple x setting, then into analogue efx from nik efx, some bokeh and vignette, and toning the image in colour cast, to give an aged look to the photograph image. i also use an icc file with the saving of image, and that of a giclée Canson rag icc profile.

In my camera bag

Sony A5000 with 16 -55mm lens, a 200mm zoom lens, a Nikon D3200 with a 55mm and a macro wide angle attachment, i have a light mobile tripod, and also two remotes for the cameras used.

Feedback

well, i guess, take the right time of day, be patient and always look around, look at what is around you, look at different angles and positions, and improvise, experiment, try different things, different settings.
