The photo was taken from my back yard in Chesapeake VA. I just purchased my Canon Rebel T7 three weeks ago so I could learn photography and while I was outside practicing I turned around and this Robin was on the post posing for me. It must have known I needed some help so he made it easy for me.Time
I just got off my early morning shift at work and grabbed my camera and went to my backyard to photograph some birds. It was around noon that I had taken this picture. I was photographing my eastern bluebird and chick a dees when I seen him on the post.Lighting
It was an overcast day so the lighting was perfect.Equipment
I used the Canon Rebel T7 with the Tamron 18-400mm lens hand held.Inspiration
Last year I got into bird watching and so I set up bird feeders to attract them to my back yard. I always wanted to photograph them but I didn’t have a good enough camera to get the close up shots. When I purchased my camera I would just take pictures of anything I could get a good view of and this one was probably the best one I have taken yet because it doesn’t have any distractions in it like the tree limbs.Editing
Very little post processing because I am learning that to. I just did the basics as best as I know how and let the picture tell the rest of the story. In my camera bag
I purchased the Tamron 18-400mm lens so I wouldn’t have to carry around a bunch of lenses so the only thing in my bag is my camera and this lens along with extra batteries, cleaning cloth, and photography notes.Feedback
I would look around and not stay focused on one area when photographing birds. This bird was not the one I was wanting to get a picture of however it has ended up being my favorite picture so far.
