Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at Lake Toxaway in North Carolina. This foggy photo was one of my favorites of last year.

Time

I had woke up early on that Spring morning to do some early morning fishing. I just so happened to have my Canon Rebel T6 and a new 10mm lens I got the week before for my birthday. The sun was barely up enough to light the sky and the fog started to come out thicker and thicker. It made for a great picture on March 31st, 2021 at 6:17 A.M.

Lighting

Since the sun was hardly out it made for a great dim shot with beautiful contrast.

Equipment

I took this photo with my Canon Rebel T6 with a 24mm lens. I free handed the shot with my settings as followed: F stop at 4.5, my shutter speed at 1/200, and my ISO 100.

Inspiration

I truly love fishing. It and photography are my two favorite hobby’s. So, I might as well do both at the same time!

Editing

This image is completely RAW.

In my camera bag

I keep my camera around my neck with a 75-300mm lens on it and a spare 24mm in my pocket. Along with a spare battery as well.

Feedback

If you are looking to take an image like this you will definitely need a smaller lens. Then just wake up a little early at a body of water and watch the magic happen!
