Behind The Lens

Location
This photo was taken at Sand Wash Basin in NW Colorado USA. Sand Wash Basin, Colorado, is home to one of the few remaining herds of free-roaming wild mustangs in the United States.
Time
It was about 8:00 am.
Lighting
The sun cooperated in that it was directly behind me at the time giving the stallion that glint in his eye.
Equipment
I used a Canon 7D ll with a Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens, mounted on a Manfrotto monopod.
Inspiration
These wild mustangs are my favorite animal subject, and I make an effort to make the 600 mi. round trip several times annually.
Editing
The photo was taken n RAW and therefore it was necessary to make adjustments in PSE elements using TOPAZ filters.
In my camera bag
This is my go-to setup when photographing wildlife, although I also carry a Canon 70-200 f/4 L for shorter work.
