Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in my garden, one minute after the strong rain stopped.

Time

It was afternoon, but the light was not intense as it was a cloudy and rainy day: definitely a grey sky.

Lighting

Had indeed to fight a bit to get the good light, as natural light was not high. I turned a bit around my subject until I found what looked ok to my eyes.

Equipment

I never use flash and rarely tripod: I like only natural light and tripod does not allow me the needed flexibility. Hence I simply used my standard Canon EOS 550D with my Tamron macro lens: a great combination, I admit.

Inspiration

I live in a Northern country and it rains quite often also in spring and summer: when flowers are blossoming, I await with joy for some rain, as the effect on the petals is truly nice :)

Editing

No post processing at all in this pic.

In my camera bag

I aways have my Canon EOS 550D with both its firm lens (wide angle) and a tamron zoom / macro lens. Only in punctual "missions" I have with me a tripod, and in pecial occasions my analogic Nikon FM (for portaits namely).

Feedback

Whatch the weather forecast, then sit (inside) and wait! droplets on petals are always very scenic.
