Behind The Lens
Location
This shot was taken during a trip in the country side of Tuscany: it was a cold winter day and while we were driving over a hill, some stormy clouds suddenly arrived, making the whole scene rather dark. I decided to stop, get out of the car, grab the camera and shoot :) It was a very intense moment and I hope the feeling is rendered in the picture.Time
Afternoon, little time before the sunset.Lighting
Observing the changing light was the key move: I had to shoot in the perfect moment, one minute later the sky would have been too dark.Equipment
I used my Canon EOS 550D (18-55mm), no tripod, no flash, no artefact whatsoever :) Just nature.Inspiration
Carpe diem. I had not planned to take this shot. I just looked around and felt it would have been a very nice take. I like framing well my scene, I very much use the rule of third, and I am extremely attentive to light: light is the essence of both painting and photography. Nature inspired me indeed.Editing
No post-processing.In my camera bag
In my camera bag I always bring my beloved Canon EOS 550D, its lens 18-55mm (good for standard pictures and with a great grand angle) and a Tamron lens 70-300mm with its sun visor. With its battery recharger ;) nothing else.Feedback
Tuscany hills are so fertile to such shots. Go around there, look around you, observe tirelessly. Choose the good day for the light: stormy weather is always the best. Even better, right after the storm :-) Wish I had had a little sunshine coming from one angle: it would have even improved the shot!
