Behind The Lens

Location

The photograph was taken ouside on rocks that line the shore of a local National Park track. The photo was part of an impromtu photo shoot.

Time

The picture was taken between 4:30 and 5:00pm

Lighting

The light is natural which at the time was overcast with clouds which from time to time parted to let the sun shine through.

Equipment

The camera for this shoot was a Sony, A7iii with a f1.8, 55mm lens.

Inspiration

The young lady asked if I could take some portrait pictures and this is one of our favourites.

Editing

The basics in Lightroom. Convert to b&w and then minor adjustments to exposure, blacks, whites, contrast and clarity.

In my camera bag

The abovementioned f1.8, 55mm lens on the Sony A7iii camera an extra battery and memory card. My backup is a Fujifilm x10, an oldie but a goldie! It was not needed.

Feedback

In nature you have no contol over the conditions especially the light so look for the best spot on arrival, get set, click away, adjust exposure as often as you notice the light change and enjoy your time with your subject.
