Behind The Lens

Location

Grampa Grizzly lives in the ghost towm of Kitsault British Columbia Canada. As one of the few local residence, it is with great priveledge, I get a close up view of the local bears during salmon runs through out the season. They are well fed and going about thier bear bussiness with bearly a care I am there.

Time

Early... 5 am ish. Dawn on the misty estuary, where the Kitsault river meets the ocean is a busy feeding time for bear population in the area.

Lighting

The natural light reflects off the ocean.... and the misty river creates a beautiful back drop.

Equipment

Samsung cell phone

Inspiration

I LIVE with and LOVE bears. Better to shoot bears with the lens of a camera than the scope lens of a gun. I feel nature is a valuable resource. Those who capture nature in photos are sharing the beauty to those who may not have a connection.

Editing

No. As is.

In my camera bag

Im new at this.. i use my cell phone for all my photos. One day I will afford a proper proffessional camera.

Feedback

Be bear aware. Bears can be dangerous and should be respected. ESPECIALLY Momma bears I am PRIVELEDGED to live among the bears and have been afforded the opportunity to capture them in photos. I DO NOT RECOMMEND getting too close. Waiting... patience and being familiar to them in thier surroundings made this photo possible.
