I just love the winter part of the Milky way. Regions rich with hydrogen and landscapes covered in snow can be a great recipe for a nice image.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the backyard of a friend’s residence. She has great views of the back of the Wasatch mountains in Heber, Utah.

Time

Early morning light.

Lighting

Really wanted to shoot through something to give it some texture. The pine tree in front of me wired perfectly!

Equipment

Sony A7iii with a Sigma 100-400 mm lens.

Inspiration

The views were incredible with fresh snow, green pines, and some red rock.

Editing

Usually don’t spend too much time in post other than working a little on the highlights and shadows and clarity.

Sony A7iii, 28 mm Sony lens and my workhorse basic Sony 18-135 f 3.5-5.6
