Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture at Lake Marsh near Hayti, SD. It was an eery evening which is why I decided to drive for potential pics!

Time

This was late afternoon. I had just wrapped up a long day of hunting pheasants when I drove around to find a spot to capture the sunset.

Lighting

The sun was fading fast, but the haze and reflection off the water made it appear to change every moment.

Equipment

I shot this with my Samsung Galaxy 10 smartphone. No flash.

Inspiration

I love sunsets. Every one is unique!

Editing

I did a slight edit to make the foreground a little darker. Helped to enhance the light in the distance and draw more attention to the ice on the water.

In my camera bag

I only have my Samsung Galaxy 10 smartphone.

Feedback

Take many pictures and stay until dark! The sky changes so frequently. Try many levels of zoom until you get what you want. I often take dozens of the same shot, then go back later to determine the best one.
