Location
Temporary table top studio set up. Available and studio lighting mix.Time
Indoor studio shot with some indirect window light. During daylight hours time not important. Mostly studio lighting.Lighting
Studio and daylight mix don't remember details set up was temporary.Equipment
Canon SL3 24meg, Canon 100mm 2.8 macro, tripod, mixed window and studio lighting mainly studio. Dark wood shelf for background.Inspiration
This container of toothpicks kept taking this shape when you shook it. Eventually I just had to photograph it.Editing
The ring of the container was red, purple works better. Other than that nothing special needed in editing since it was shot under controlled lighting conditions. In my camera bag
2 Canon 24meg bodies. Canon 18mm - 55mm STM Canon 100mm 2.8 macro Canon 55mm - 250mm Lens cloth and cleaner (1 tripod and 1 monopod not actually in bag).Feedback
Macro photography requires precision and lots of trial and error to get everything right. Experiment and take lots of different versions of your subject. One shot usually will stand out after the shoot.
