Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on my kitchen counter

Time

around 4pm

Lighting

I used a flashlight to back light it

Equipment

I used my Cannon Rebel T5 with my Cannon Macro EF100mm 1:2.8 macros lens on a tripod

Inspiration

Long time ago, in high school, I took these pictures with a film camera. I remember looking at the ice cube and thinking this would look really cool close up, so I wanted to re-create the ones I did in high school with the film camera. This is my first attempt with the digital and I think they came out pretty good.

Editing

I realized that there will have to be post- processing done, just like with the film as there was not enough contrast in them. I like my black & white pictures, black & white. So in the Lightroom feature that Viewbug offers I was able to sharpen it slightly and make the contrast more pronounced.

In my camera bag

I guess it depends on what Im planning on doing. I usually leave my macro lens at home and take my telephoto lens and wide angle lens with me when I go out.
