Early morning start and drive through to Wellington.
At this point due to the early start, I thought I would go somewhere different and see what views were afforded to me.
This shot is overlooking Mana and through to Camborne here in Wellington NZ.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the hills above Plimmerton here in Wellington, New Zealand.

Time

Quite an early start to the day. Getting up at 5am and heading to the location at 7am.

Lighting

The atmosphere was fantastic and the view spectacular with clouds and early morning light affording a great view along the valleys. Good to capture the sun peaking out at times.

Equipment

This was shot with my Nikon D750 at 120mm @ f11. Freehand shot and no flash needed.

Inspiration

I was considering where I could drive to and overlook this area when I was driving home. So I took it upon myself to go for a drive around the area.

Editing

Yes this was post processed in Lightroom to bring out the shadows and add more colour. Plus I softened the image deliberately.

In my camera bag

I always pack light. One camera. One lens along with wired trigger and a 10 stop filter. Just so I can explore further with limited weight. Tripod optional.

Feedback

Wellington always responds in kind with cloudy mornings after a storm. Go and explore!
