This photo was taken from my balcony on the Majestic Princess on her inaugural sail-in to Sydney at dawn in September 2018. We had just sailed from Shanghai.Time
We sailed in to Sydney at dawn in September 2018. The harbour had been lit up with flares for the inaugural sail-in of the Majestic Princess and the Opera House was in stunning form with the sun rising behind her.Lighting
The combination of sunrise, and with the lighting still glowing, and reflections from the flares, the Opera House took on a rather eerie appearance.Equipment
Since we were about to disembark the ship, my camera gear was packed up, so I grabbed the nearest thing I could, which happened to be my iPad. What can I say?Inspiration
The Majestic Princess provided a unique opportunity to photograph the Opera House from this angle. She's always an imposing figure, but being a little higher and out on the water was a unique location to photograph the Opera HouseEditing
